Arlene Anisman, Psychotherapist

Arlene is a mental health professional who provides psychological services under the supervision of a registered psychologist.

Arlene Anisman, B.A., M.Ed. (Counselling Psychology and Adult Education): is a psychotherapist who has been in private practice for the past 30 years. She is a Clinical Member of OSP (Ontario Society of Psychotherapists), Certified Level 2 Trainer and Practitioner of EDxTM (Energy Diagnostic & Treatment Methods, Level 4 training in Touch for Health (TFH) as well as training in advanced EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), Clinical Hypnosis and TFT (Thought Field Therapy). Her original training is in Redecision Therapy which is a combination of Transactional Analysis, Gestalt and body work.

In her private practice, Arlene offers individual, couple and family psychotherapy. The psychotherapy may be short-term or long-term. Her services include alcohol and drug abuse, sexual abuse, sexual assault, eating problems and disorders, self-esteem, family of origin work, conflict resolution/mediation, and separation issues.

Arlene has also worked with social services agencies in the community as a facilitator for conflict resolution, to set up ongoing models for future conflict resolution and to teach problem-solving skills. She has facilitated numerous workshops on topics such as Energy Diagnostic & Treatment Methods, Levels 1 and 2; increasing self-esteem and self-confidence; teaching psychotherapy skills for working with rape victims and victims of other forms of assault; teaching problem-solving psychotherapy skills; teaching wives of alcoholics coping skills; resolving problematic issues resulting from relationships with parents; body image workshops; separating from spouse; various presentations and workshops on the use of therapeutic-grade essential oils including combining psychotherapy and essential oils to enhance healing, to stop panic attacks, to release trauma; and assertiveness training programs.

Over 30 years of private practice as a psychotherapist, Arlene has always sought effective ways to empower clients to help them feel better and make the changes they want with the least amount of struggle or pain. Her passion in her healing practice is to support each individual’s process, to meet each person’s goals for physical and emotional healing, to enable each person to feel better and to live with integrity in relation to themselves, in relation to others, and in relation to their community and the world we live in. <p>Arlene welcomes your referrals, for yourself, your family and others~!
