Dr. Lynda Archer

Dr. Lynda Archer has been registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario for over 20 years. She is a member of the Canadian Psychological Association, the American Psychological Association and the Canadian Register of Health Service Providers. In her clinical practice, Dr. Archer provides assessment and treatment for children, adolescents and adults. She works from a family, psycho-dynamic and/or cognitive-behavioural approach.

With adults Dr. Archer has extensive experience assessing and treating: anxiety, depression, PTSD, survivors of rape, childhood trauma and abuse. Dr. Archer also provides treatment for workplace stress issues, grief/loss, gay/lesbian, sexual orientation concerns.

Dr. Archer counsels parents, and assesses and treats children and adolescents with a wide array of emotional and behavioural difficulties including: grief/loss issues, parental separation and divorce, anxiety disorders, depression, learning disability, ADHD, PTSD. Dr. Archer has conducted child assessments for Children’s Aid Societies and Parenting Capacity Assessments for the Court; she has been qualified as an Expert Witness in this regard.

For over twenty years Dr. Archer has provided consultation to area school boards. She has completed hundreds of psychoeducational assessments and advises parents on how to best advocate for their child within the school system. Dr. Archer has completed training with Jon Kabat-Zinn (author of Full Catastrophe Living) and teaches meditation and mindfulness to assist clients with anxiety disorders, depression, stress and anger management issues.
