Marcy Barrett-Tynes
Marcy is a mental health professional who provides psychological services under the supervision of a registered psychologist.
Marcy Barrett-Tynes is a graduate from the Adler School of Professional Psychology where she received a Masters of Arts in Counselling Psychology. She is also a graduate from the York/Seneca Rehabilitation program where she focused in rehabilitation counseling. Marcy is a professional member of the Canadian Association of Rehabilitation professionals and holds a RRP Registered Rehabilitation Professional designation and she is also a member of the Ontario Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists.
Marcy has 8 years experience in the counseling field and has extensive experience working with a variety of populations. This includes counseling individuals who have sustained injuries at work or in motor vehicle accidents. Marcy provides psychotherapy to adults and couples. Her areas of interest includes depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, personal growth and career coaching.
Marcy’s overall philosophy is to assist clients in immediately working on areas that may be affecting their functioning, while at the same time continue to explore their underlying issues. She provides therapy in a manner that is professional and respectful. Many of her clients report feeling safe and comfortable during their sessions. She is open minded and is sensitive to cultural issues and sexual orientation.
