Maria Costa, Psychotherapist
Maria is a mental health professional who provides psychological services under the supervision of a registered psychologist.
Maria Costa has a master’s degree in counselling psychology and she is an active member of the Ontario Association of Counsellors, Consultants, Psychotherapists and Psychometrists. Maria also finished a 6 year university degree in Psychology in Brazil.
Maria has a specialization in Human Resources Management, formal training in Grief and Bereavement, Gestalt Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Settlement and Community Services, as well as several courses in mental health, addictions and treatment interventions.
Maria has 13 years of experience in the field in a variety of settings including private practice, hospitals, schools and companies. She has been working for 6 years as a mental health clinician in an outpatient mental health program where she provides biopsychosocial assessments and contributes to the treatment of several mental health conditions. Maria has experience with short and long term therapeutic interventions, such as Trauma Counselling, Gestalt therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Brief Solution Focused Therapy, Supportive Therapy, Relaxation Training, as well as some experience with rehabilitation and brief family/couple interventions.
Maria provides services for teenager, adult and elderly populations in the following areas:
