Biography

Barry Burrows practices counselling and therapy in Orangeville, Georgetown, Fergus, and Mississauga under the supervision of a Registered Psychologist or Registered Psychological Associate who are members of the College of Psychologists of Ontario.

Barry Burrows M.Sc. M.C. C.Ht is an experienced therapist. He is a counsellor and hypnotherapist, and a certified member of the Canadian Counselling Association, the Ontario Association of Consultants, Counsellors, Psychometrists and Psychotherapists, and the Ontario Association of Hypnotherapists.

Barry's areas of interest include client-centered, solution-focused brief therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy and hypnotherapy, with individuals, couples, and families.

Barry's supportive and engaging style encourages a strong working relationship with clients as they deal with challenges in life transitions, relationships, and the workplace. He also works with clients having difficulties with sexual issues, habit change, challenges to esteem and self-concept, and who are experiencing excessive stress at work or at home. Parenting skills training, communications, assertiveness, Transactional Analysis, and conflict resolution approaches are within Barry's areas of competency.

In addition, Barry has over 16 years experience in organizational settings involving change initiatives, group decision-making, training and development, and executive coaching. He is also certified in the use of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and in suicide intervention.

Barry's personal interests include the martial arts, Yang Style Taiji, and meditation.
