Biography
Nancy Allan practices counselling and therapy in Simcoe under the supervision of a Registered Psychologist or Registered Psychological Associate who are members of the College of Psychologists of Ontario.
Nancy is a Registered Nurse with her Master’s Degree in Community Health Nursing. She has earned a certificate in Couple and Family Therapy Studies from the University of Guelph. These studies; along with extensive, comprehensive, professional, clinical supervision; have prepared her to become a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist.
Nancy has many years of experience in the health care field and has held a variety of clinical and administrative positions. She has been practicing independently since 1995.
Nancy enjoys working with people of all ages. She has a special interest in helping people to attain and maintain good mental health. Nancy believes that people are able to solve their own problems and from time to time they benefit from guidance and advice which she can provide.
Nancy is familiar with, and uses, a variety of approaches to psychotherapy/counselling depending on the client’s circumstances. All methods are acceptable and standard within the profession.
Nancy’s practice is a general practice. She is able to treat clients with a variety of problems. These problems include, but are not limited to: depression, anxiety, marital/couple issues, parenting, family issues, trauma, conflict resolution, work place stress, coping with health problems, life changes, grief and loss issues, legal problems, and anger issues.
