Biography

Elizabeth Carey practices counselling and therapy in Toronto under the supervision of a Registered Psychologist or Registered Psychological Associate who are members of the College of Psychologists of Ontario.

Elizabeth has a Master's Degree in Mental Health Counselling from MedailleCollege in Buffalo, New York. Additionally, she has Bachelor of Arts Degree majoring in Psychology with minors in Business and Creative Writing from the State University of New York at Geneseo. She is a member of the Ontario Association of Consultants, Counsellors, Psychometrists and Psychotherapists (OACCPP) and the Canadian Addiction Counsellor Certification Federation (CACCF).

Elizabeth has over 5 years experience helping individuals, couples and families from diverse backgrounds with severe and persistent mental health concerns and addiction issues. Elizabeth’s areas of specialization include, but are not limited to:

· Drug and Alcohol Addiction (and families of those with addiction concerns)

· Women’s Therapy

· Family and couples counselling

· Assertiveness/Self Esteem training

· Career/Work issues

She works from a strength based perspective and strongly believes in meeting clients where they are at in the process of change to assist them in moving in a positive direction.
