Program, Family Therapy, Individual Therapy, Marital Therapy, Rehabilitation BiographySteve Cadman-Neu practices counselling and therapy in Grimsby, Cambridge, and Mississauga under the supervision of a Registered Psychologist or Registered Psychological Associate who are members of the College of Psychologists of Ontario. Steve has been counselling for 20+ years, has a BA, a Masters degree in Social Work (MSW), and a Graduate Diploma in Social Administration. He has completed the Extern Program at the George Hull Centre, 200+ hours of AAMFT supervision and all AAMFT required courses (American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy). He is a member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW) and is a Past President of the Canadian Chapter of the North American Association of Christians in Social Work. Steve has a background in residential programs for the emotionally, mentally and physically challenged, has worked in a residential addictions program, on a Wife Assault/Domestic Violence team that did joint on site interventions with police, and has spent the last 15 years in group and individual private practices. He has been a partner/Director at the Institute of Family Living, the Counselling Co-ordinator at Heart to Heart Counselling/The Family Centre, and a co-founding partner/Director and Administrator of the Institute of Family Living West/Skarsten Family Living Centres. Steve is in private practice with his wife Heidi who is an Art and Play Therapist. Steve does individual, marriage & family counselling. This includes dealing with issues of depression, anxiety, fears, anger, self esteem, dependencies, grief, loss, trauma, & abuse (including spiritual abuse). It also involves helping others work through conflict resolution issues, crisis & stress management, identity & emotional/relationship boundary issues, personality gifting profiles (opposites attract in marriage), power struggles (whose right/wrong, wins/loses, gets to define reality/capitulates), intimacy, communication/listening, parenting & parent-child-teen relationships. Steve also works on EAP Trauma Teams that do on site Trauma DeFusings & DeBriefings with companies & organizations where there have been job site deaths, suicides, assaults, robberies, terminations, corporate mergers, etc. For those who are interested, Steve is also able to integrate a Christian spiritual dimension with professional counselling. |
